Also, you may like* [*these Christmas recipes*](https://mischievousmonsters.com/xmas/?ref=mischievousmonsters.com)*.* ## Swiss Miss Non-Dairy Chocolate Flavored Hot Cocoa Mix (9/10) I heard that Swiss Miss now has [a dairy-free hot chocolate mix](https://www.swissmiss.com/classics/non-dairy-chocolate-flavored-hot-cocoa-mix?ref=mischievousmonsters.com), so I had to try it. Even though the product wasn’t labeled vegan on the website, it seemed vegan by the ingredient list. I questioned the enzyme-modified cocoa butter because enzymes could be animal-derived or plant-derived and the natural flavors because of their varied origin. Plus, I wasn’t sure if their regular sugar was processed in bone char. Since there were no definite non-vegan ingredients, it was worth trying. I grabbed the last one in stock at my local Target and went home to try it. I was surprised how much this tasted like regular hot chocolate. It was even better with marshmallows. It had a slightly bitter taste after you realized you didn’t stir in all of the hot chocolate mix towards the bottom of the mug, but that was my only issue with it. ## YumEarth Organic Candy Canes (7/10) [YumEarth organic candy canes](https://yumearth.com/products/organic-holiday-candy-canes?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) were pretty good. They easily broke, and the packaging didn’t prevent that from happening. They had a better peppermint taste than the lollipops, but I wished it was a little stronger. YumEarth also sells mini candy canes that work pretty well in hot chocolate and Christmas goodie bags. ## YumEarth Organic Candy Cane Lollipops (6/10) [YumEarth organic candy cane lollipops](https://yumearth.com/?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) weren’t that bad. They came in two minty flavors: ‘Tis the Season for Treatin’ (red and white lollipop) and Sweet Holiday Wishes (green and white lollipop). They had a slight candy cane flavor, but it should have been more pungent and less sugary. ## Bunny James Boxes Vegan Holiday Stocking (5/10) [Bunny James Boxes vegan holiday stocking](https://bunnyjamesboxes.com/products/vegan-holiday-stocking?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) was pretty lame. The selection was awful, and I wouldn’t say I liked anything in the vegan gift stocking. It was like they picked the cheapest vegan options possible instead of finding the best products to sell in their stocking. I did give them credit for only picking products with vegan labels on them over stuff that seems vegan, like Oreos and regular marshmallows. ### Partake Foods Chocolate Peppermint Cookies I tried [Partake Foods chocolate peppermint cookies](https://partakefoods.com/?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) in [my previous Christmas taste test](https://mischievousmonsters.com/xmas-2021-treat-vlog/?ref=mischievousmonsters.com), and they were okay. I liked how the chocolate chips melted in your mouth. My main issue with these cookies was their lousy aftertaste, which I assumed was from the gluten-free flours. ### Bear Raspberry Fruit Rolls [Bear raspberry fruit rolls](https://bearsnacks.com/products/fruit-rolls/raspberry?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) reminded me of Betty Crocker’s Fruit Roll-Ups and Fruit by the Foot. The judo collectible card confused me because it came out of nowhere. The raspberry flavor was there, but it was too artificial. The snack itself was super hard and too chewy to be that enjoyable by children. ### YumEarth Organic Fruit Snacks [YumEarth organic fruit snacks](https://yumearth.com/products/organic-fruit-snacks?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) were supposed to come in banana, cherry, peach, and strawberry, but almost all of the fruit snacks I got were banana-flavored, which had a pungent taste. I couldn’t figure out the other flavor that came with it. These fruit snacks weren’t that good. ### Bobo’s Gingerbread Oat Bar [Bobo’s gingerbread oat bar](https://eatbobos.com/collections/vegan/products/gingerbread-oat-bar?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) was terrible. I didn’t taste the gingerbread in this, and it felt like it was missing something, as if it should have honey if it weren’t vegan. The brown rice syrup didn’t provide the sugary richness to act like honey. ### Whoa Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar [Whoa chocolate chip cookie dough bar](https://www.whoadough.com/collections/flavors/products/whoa-dough-edible-cookie-dough-bars-plant-based-gluten-free-vegan-non-gmo-healthy-alternative-real-ingredients-healthy-snacks-for-kids-and-adults-10-bars-chocolate-chip?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) was bland. Instead of tasting fluffy and gooey as cookie dough should, I had the pleasure of eating a chewy bar that seemed confused about what flavor it was supposed to be. There was a hint of chocolate chips but not enough to be considered chocolate chip cookie dough. Plus, the oats overpowered everything and made it taste like oatmeal raisin cookie dough, except without the raisins plus extra oats. ### Sunny Fruit Organic Tart Cherries [Sunny Fruit organic tart cherries](https://sunnyfruit.com/collections/organic-dried-fruits-1/products/organic-tart-cherries?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) looked super unappetizing and unappealing. I’m not a huge fan of tart cherries, so I wasn’t surprised that I didn’t like them after trying them. ### Nature’s Bakery Raspberry Fig Bars The [Nature’s Bakery raspberry fig bar](https://www.naturesbakery.com/whole-wheat-fig-bars-raspberry?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) I tried was the best thing out of this stocking. I liked the raspberry flavor, but it could be a bit stronger. The fig gave it a slightly off aftertaste, but adding more raspberry and less fig would fix that quickly. ### Rule Breaker Deep Chocolate Brownies [Rule Breaker deep chocolate brownies](https://www.rulebreakersnacks.com/products/deep-chocolate-brownie-cookie?variant=12961196146732&ref=mischievousmonsters.com) were pathetic. That cookie looked like it got squished somehow during transit. Unsubscribe from the weekly newsletter at any time. ## Divine Dark Chocolate Advent Calendar (4/10) I think I had [the Divine dark chocolate Advent calendar](https://shop.divinechocolateusa.com/Dark-Chocolate-Advent-Calendar/p/DIV-004180&c=DivineChocolate@Christmas?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) last year, but I didn’t remember it being so rich in dark chocolate. The mini chocolates were hearts, which were cute but not that Christmasy. I don’t get why Advent calendars usually aren’t in order by day. ## Moo Free Christmas Kit (3/10) The Yummy Palette sold [this Moo Free Christmas Kit](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HPB64J8/ref=ppx%5Fyo%5Fdt%5Fb%5Fsearch%5Fasin%5Fimage?ie=UTF8&th=1&ref=mischievousmonsters.com) on Amazon, and it was the worst thing from this taste test. I must have cursed it right before trying it because I said there was no way any vegan sweets kit could be worse than the one from Bunny James Boxes. The candy was super rich and bitter dark chocolate, which I hated. ### Moo Free Milk Chocolate Buttons [Moo Free milk chocolate buttons](https://www.moofreechocolates.com/collections/free-from-vegan-christmas-chocolates?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) were pretty bitter and nothing to be excited about grabbing in the bulk candy section. ### Moo Free Original Milk Chocolate Bar [Moo Free original milk chocolate bar](https://www.moofreechocolates.com/collections/all-dairy-free-chocolates/products/mini-bar-original?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) tasted nothing like milk chocolate. It tasted like pure dark chocolate, just like the milk chocolate buttons. ### Moo Free Milk Chocolate Santa Bar [Moo Free milk chocolate Santa bar](https://www.moofreechocolates.com/collections/christmas-chocolates/products/dairy-free-chocolate-santa?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) was pretty cute because it was a chocolate mold of Santa. It tasted identical to the original milk chocolate bar. I expected it to have a peppermint flavor with him being Santa and all, but I was highly disappointed when I was wrong. ### Moo Free Caramel Bar [Moo Free caramel bar](https://www.moofreechocolates.com/collections/free-from-vegan-christmas-chocolates?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) looked like an ordinary chocolate candy bar. If nobody labeled it as a caramel bar, I never would have noticed the difference because you couldn’t tell it was caramel-flavored by looking at it. This was my least favorite of the Moo Free chocolate bars. Granted, I wouldn’t say I like caramel, so that was expected. ### Moo Free Mint Chocolate Bar [Moo Free mint chocolate bar](https://www.moofreechocolates.com/collections/free-from-vegan-christmas-chocolates?ref=mischievousmonsters.com) was a huge disappointment. Like the caramel bar, you couldn’t tell it was a mint chocolate bar beyond the wrapper’s label. I preferred Andes Chocolate Mints, where the mint was colored green. I could taste the mint, but it wasn’t that great. ## Conclusion Most of these vegan Christmas sweets failed to get my approval except the Swiss Miss non-dairy hot chocolate mix.
